Calx Photo calorie counter and macro tracker

Calx is an Android app for counting calories without weighing food or scrolling a database. Take a photo of a meal and it estimates the calories, protein, carbs, and fat in each item; type a meal in plain words if a photo isn't handy; scan a barcode or label for anything packaged. Every entry rolls into a daily total against a calorie and macro target you set.

Describe & log

Photo to macros

Point the camera at a plate and Calx breaks it into items, each with an estimate of calories, protein, carbs, and fat. Adjust anything that looks off before it's logged.

Or just say what you ate

Type “two eggs and a slice of toast” into the chat and it becomes a logged meal with the same item-by-item breakdown.

Barcodes and nutrition labels

For packaged food, scan the barcode or photograph the nutrition label and the numbers come off the package instead of from a guess.

A daily target to work against

Set a goal and Calx gives you a daily calorie target with macros, shown as a ring that fills as you log through the day.

Common questions

How accurate are calorie estimates from a photo?

They are estimates. Portion size is the hardest part to judge from a picture, so check the breakdown and correct items or amounts before saving. For packaged food, a barcode or label scan is more precise.

Is Calx free?

It's free to install, and a new account gets three AI actions a day (photo scans, label scans, or chat logs) for its first three days. After that, AI logging needs Calx Pro, a subscription managed through Google Play.

Is Calx medical or dietary advice?

No. Calx provides nutrition estimates for information only and is not a medical device or a substitute for advice from a doctor or dietitian.

Is there an iPhone version?

Not yet. Calx is an Android app, available on Google Play.
